The Yoruba Nollywood actor, Babatunde Tayo, known as Baba Tee, has reversed his previous denial and confessed to a brief sexual encounter with Dara, the wife of comedian Ganiyu Morufu, also known as Lande. This admission came during a live interview with socialite Esabod and other TikTokers, contradicting his earlier stance where he challenged Lande to provide proof of the alleged affair or face legal action for defamation.

The controversy began when Lande publicly accused his wife of infidelity, claiming involvement with at least 21 men in the entertainment industry, including Baba Tee. Initially, Baba Tee vehemently denied the allegation, stating he had only met Dara once through actress Marygold, who introduced her as a content creator and aspiring artist. He claimed to have learned her true identity later during a conversation between Dara and Marygold.

However, Baba Tee’s recent confession paints a different picture. He admitted to the sexual encounter, attributing it to a drunken game of “Truth or Dare” with Dara and Marygold. He maintains that Marygold never disclosed Dara’s identity as Lande’s wife, introducing her solely as a content creator. This lack of knowledge, coupled with the influence of alcohol and the provocative nature of the game, led to the brief encounter, which he now claims was a set-up orchestrated by the two women to damage his reputation.

Baba Tee’s narrative portrays a scenario where Marygold and Dara came to his house unannounced. Marygold, under the guise of wanting him to MC an upcoming event, brought Dara along, introducing her as a content creator. The evening progressed to a game of “Truth or Dare,” during which Marygold reportedly dared Dara to engage in a “quick” sexual act with Baba Tee. He complied, unaware of Dara’s marital status and believing her to be simply a content creator.

He maintains that Marygold strategically used dares to manipulate the situation, escalating the level of intimacy while avoiding truths that might have revealed Dara’s true identity. He describes Marygold disrobing and consistently daring him in relation to Dara, while Dara herself opted for alcohol rather than completing the tasks he set for her. This deliberate maneuvering, according to Baba Tee, culminated in the dare that led to the brief sexual encounter.

Following the revelation, Esabod, the socialite hosting the interview, advised Baba Tee to formally apologize to Lande, emphasizing the betrayal inherent in his initial denial and legal threats. Baba Tee subsequently issued a public apology on his Facebook page, expressing remorse and admitting to his ignorance of Dara’s marital status. He also expressed a newfound fear of women, seemingly attributing the situation to their manipulative actions. Meanwhile, Marygold, Ijoba Lande’s manager, is alleged to have recorded the encounter between Baba Tee and Dara, further complicating the situation and raising questions about her motivations.

This complex situation highlights the potential pitfalls of social games, the influence of alcohol, and the importance of clear communication. Baba Tee’s initial denial and subsequent confession portray him as a man caught in a web of deceit, while the alleged actions of Marygold and Dara raise questions about their intentions. The public nature of the accusations and the involvement of social media amplify the drama, turning a private matter into a public spectacle. The incident underscores the complexities of relationships and the damage that can be caused by misunderstandings, misrepresentations, and deliberate manipulation. The ongoing fallout and the potential legal ramifications remain to be seen, but the incident serves as a cautionary tale about the potential consequences of unchecked impulses and the complexities of human interaction. Whether Baba Tee’s apology will be accepted by Lande and whether the truth behind the alleged “set-up” will ever be fully known is yet to unfold.
