The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) and key stakeholders in the insurance industry launched the 2025 Insurance Week with a vibrant awareness walk through the streets of Lagos. This initiative, aimed at demystifying insurance and boosting its penetration in Nigeria, commenced at the NEM Insurance Plc office and concluded at the National Stadium in Surulere. The event served as a powerful symbol of the industry’s commitment to engaging with the public and promoting the importance of insurance in everyday life. Participants from various insurance companies and related organizations joined the walk, creating a visible demonstration of the industry’s collective effort to reach a wider audience. The walk served as the opening act for a week-long series of activities designed to educate and inform the public about the benefits of insurance.

The 2025 Insurance Week, themed around deepening professionalism, fostering education, and empowering the next generation, promised a comprehensive program of events. CIIN President/Chairman of Council, Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, welcomed participants and emphasized the significance of the awareness walk as a symbol of the industry’s commitment to building trust and accessibility. The scheduled activities for the week included targeted outreach programs in schools, a career fair to attract young talent to the insurance sector, and a public lecture to discuss key industry topics. Following the awareness walk, the atmosphere transitioned into a festive carnival atmosphere at the National Stadium. Engaging games and competitions, including a spirited tug-of-war, fostered camaraderie and friendly rivalry among insurance industry giants such as NEM Insurance, Tangerine Insurance, and STACO Insurance. These activities provided a relaxed and informal setting for networking and interaction among industry professionals, further strengthening the sense of community within the insurance sector. The carnival atmosphere contributed to the overall positive energy of the event, solidifying the Insurance Week launch as a memorable occasion.

A senior insurance executive, Mr. Jide Orimolade, commended the organizing committee, participating firms, and partners for their dedication and enthusiastic involvement.
