The Ikwo Noyo Youth Consultative Forum has unequivocally dismissed allegations circulating regarding the invalidation of its recent executive elections by the Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman, Ben Ede. The youth group, in a press briefing, categorically labeled these rumors as baseless and unfounded, firmly upholding the legitimacy of the election process and the leadership of its re-elected President-General, Dr. Onyechi Nwankwo. This public declaration of support came through a jointly signed communique by prominent figures within the forum, including Dr. John Vitalis Ogodo, Dr. Stanley Ikeowu, other BoT members, legal representatives, key stakeholders, and community representatives, demonstrating a united front against the circulating misinformation.

The communique emphatically reiterated the validity of the forum’s election held on July 12, 2025. It underscored the adherence to the forum’s constitution throughout the electoral process, highlighting the peaceful, free, fair, and transparent nature of the proceedings, all overseen by independent observers and stakeholders. This detailed account of the election aims to counteract the narrative of impropriety implied by the invalidation rumors. The communique further solidified the legitimacy and binding nature of the re-election of the incumbent executive committee, emphasizing the continuity of their renewed tenure without interruption. This decisive stance aims to quell any uncertainty or instability caused by the unsubstantiated claims.

Addressing the allegations directly, the communique strongly condemned the purported invalidation attempt by the BoT chairman, characterizing it as unconstitutional, a gross abuse of office, and a deliberate effort to destabilize the forum. This direct and forceful language underscores the seriousness with which the forum views the chairman’s alleged actions and signals a commitment to protecting the integrity of the organization. Furthermore, a stern warning was issued to the BoT chairman against any form of harassment or intimidation directed at members of the executive committee, asserting that the forum would not tolerate such behavior and would take appropriate action to protect its leadership. This proactive stance underscores the forum’s resolve to prevent any potential disruption or undue influence on its operations.

Adding further weight to the forum’s position, the BoT Secretary, Engr. Anyigor Ikeowu, publicly disavowed any knowledge or involvement in the communique якобы issued by the BoT chairman regarding the election’s invalidation. He categorically stated his non-participation in issuing the said communique and questioned the authenticity of his purported signature. He further asserted his right to pursue legal action for impersonation should his name and signature have been used without his consent. This denial from a senior BoT member further discredits the narrative of a legitimate invalidation effort and casts doubt on the chairman’s claims.

The forum also issued a strong warning against any attempts to interfere with its assets, particularly its official bus. Any actions by the BoT chairman or his associates to seize, vandalize, or otherwise interfere with the forum’s property would be considered acts of sabotage and theft, inviting commensurate legal consequences. This proactive declaration serves as a deterrent and underscores the forum’s commitment to protecting its resources and ensuring uninterrupted operations. It serves as a public notice of the potential legal ramifications of any such actions.

In essence, the Ikwo Noyo Youth Consultative Forum presented a unified front against the attempted invalidation of its election. They meticulously outlined the legitimacy of the election process, condemned the chairman’s actions, and affirmed their unwavering support for the re-elected leadership. The forum’s proactive stance, coupled with the BoT secretary’s denial, effectively neutralizes the invalidation attempt and sends a clear message of unity and resolve within the organization. The forum’s preparedness to pursue legal action further reinforces its commitment to upholding its constitution and protecting its integrity against any internal or external threats.
