The Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, Nigeria, has received a significant upgrade to its E-wing, thanks to a collaborative effort between the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and the United Bank for Africa (UBA). This refurbishment, alongside the acquisition of four new CNG-powered buses for enhanced passenger mobility within the airport, marks a crucial step towards elevating the overall passenger experience and modernizing Nigeria’s aviation infrastructure. FAAN’s Managing Director, Olubunmi Kuku, emphasized the organization’s commitment to continuous improvement of facilities and services, assuring stakeholders of ongoing investments in cooling systems, equipment upgrades, and infrastructural modernization by 2025. The renovation of the E-wing forms part of a broader airport revitalization plan spearheaded by FAAN in partnership with private sector entities. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, especially given the constraints of limited resources.
