The new facility is intended to provide accessible, quality healthcare at an affordable cost, showcasing the government’s efforts to ensure that every citizen has access to necessary health services.

In her address, Hon. Naana Eyiah highlighted the progress made under the NPP government in Gomoa Central across diverse sectors, with a particular focus on healthcare. She cited previous developments, including District Health Centers in Gomoa Obuasi and Gomoa Mangoase, along with over ten fully equipped Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compounds established to enhance healthcare access in various communities. This comprehensive approach reflects a dedication to improving public health infrastructure and ensuring a robust network of healthcare services for local residents.

The Deputy Minister expressed gratitude to the government, emphasizing that the initiatives have significantly transformed the Gomoa Central constituency, enhancing both human and infrastructural development. Eyiah pointed out that all health facilities in the area are well-equipped with essential medical supplies and staffed by a sufficient number of qualified nurses and health workers. This readiness allows the newly commissioned 30-bed capacity Polyclinic to begin operations immediately, ensuring that it is ready to serve local residents through the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), allowing members to access services without financial barriers.

Hon. Benjamin Kojo Otoo, the District Chief Executive for Gomoa Central, echoed these sentiments during the commissioning event. He remarked on the efforts of the NPP government and Hon. From the health sector’s perspective, Mr. George Bempah, the Gomoa Central District Director of the Ghana Health Service, commended Eyiah’s leadership in improving healthcare delivery. He assured attendees that qualified health professionals have been assigned to the new facility to provide quality services. The successful introduction of this facility is seen as a major step in bridging healthcare access gaps in the region, reinforcing the government’s commitment to better health outcomes for communities.

Additionally, local chiefs and community leaders, including Nana Osuan Asare VI and Nana Esoun Abonyi Kwaata II, expressed appreciation for the NPP’s investments in healthcare facilities, noting the relief the new Polyclinic will bring to local residents.
