The Greenwich Foundation has undertaken a significant renovation project at Ransome Kuti Grammar School located in Yaba, Lagos. This initiative aligns with the foundation’s corporate social responsibility objectives and demonstrates its commitment to improving educational infrastructure within the community. The foundation’s efforts aim to promote a conducive learning environment, which is vital for students’ academic success and overall development. The renovations serve as part of a broader strategy to enhance the quality of education and facilities available to young learners in Lagos State, a crucial step in empowering the next generation.

Erelu Adebayo, the Chairman of the Greenwich Foundation, expressed pride in unveiling the newly renovated facilities of Ransome Kuti Memorial Junior & Senior Grammar School. The renovations encompass a range of updates, such as painting all classrooms, replacing ceiling fans and lighting fixtures, refurbishing the food shed, interlocking the entire school’s backyard, and refreshing the exterior aesthetics of both the Junior and Senior Secondary schools. This comprehensive upgrade not only modernizes the physical aspects of the school but also aims to inspire hope and promote educational excellence among students and the surrounding community.

In addition to improving the school’s physical appearance, Adebayo acknowledged the collaborative efforts from various stakeholders who contributed to this initiative. She specifically highlighted the support from the Lagos State Government and key partners including Greenwich Merchant Bank, Greenwich Registrars & Data Solutions Ltd, and Greenwich Trustees Ltd. This collaboration underscores the importance of community involvement in educational improvement efforts, as well as the foundation’s adherence to ensuring that every child has access to a superior quality of education. The support of these partners has been instrumental in enabling the foundation to carry out such impactful renovations.

The Programme Coordinator of the Greenwich Foundation, Yewande Akomolede, noted that the renovation project began with the reconstruction of 66 toilets for both the Junior and Senior Secondary schools. The creation of clean and functional restrooms is a critical component of the school’s infrastructure, addressing a fundamental need that directly affects the health and comfort of students. Akomolede emphasized that providing these essential facilities is integral to fostering a conducive learning environment and improving the overall educational experience for students.

Recognition of the renovation initiative was also voiced by Yusuf Ajoke, the Tutor General (Permanent Secretary) of Lagos State, who praised the efforts of the Greenwich Foundation.
