Upjit Singh Sachdeva, widely known as Mr. Jeety, the CEO of Jeety Conglomerate and Salala Rubber Corporation, orchestrated a heartwarming Christmas celebration for over 4,000 children in Margibi County, Liberia. On December 25, 2024, Mr. Jeety, a celebrated Indian businessman and former Indian Honorary Consul General to Liberia, personally oversaw the distribution of Christmas packages brimming with assorted food items. This act of generosity brought immense joy to the children and earned him the profound gratitude of the local communities, who praised his decision to spend the holiday season with them. The distribution commenced in Cinta Township, Weala, and extended to numerous locations across the county, including Camp One, Two, Four, and Five at the Salala Rubber Corporation, Massaquoi Town, and Bapulu Town. This Christmas event is a continuation of a regular holiday feeding program established by Mr. Jeety.

Prior to the festivities in Margibi County, Mr. Jeety continued his customary feeding program at Monrovia Central Prison (MCP). On Christmas Day, he provided hot meals, soft drinks, and cakes to 1,648 inmates. During his address at the prison, Mr. Jeety expressed his humility and gratitude for the opportunity to serve humanity. He emphasized the importance of providing for the inmates, who are unable to access food for themselves due to their incarceration. Furthermore, Mr. Jeety addressed the pressing issue of the prison’s broken water system, pledging to repair the pump and, with God’s help, rebuild the entire system. He reiterated his commitment to feeding the needy, a principle deeply rooted in his faith, and outlined his plans to feed over 5,000 people that day, encompassing the Monrovia Central Prison, Kakata Central Prison, and the children in Weala.

The acting superintendent of Monrovia Central Prison, Joel Justin Juah, expressed his deep appreciation for Mr. Jeety’s ongoing support, specifically acknowledging the provision of food, non-food items, and the commitment to repairing the water system. He also highlighted the plight of many inmates lacking legal representation. Following the visit to Monrovia Central Prison, Mr. Jeety extended his generosity to Kakata Central Prison, providing meals, water, soft drinks, and donating 15 dozen plates. Superintendent Varney Lake, on behalf of the inmates, expressed gratitude for Mr. Jeety’s philanthropy and encouraged him to continue his humanitarian endeavors.

Mr. Jeety’s philanthropic activities in Liberia are extensive and long-standing. His regular feeding program, initiated in February 2017, aims to alleviate hunger and poverty within the country. The program gained significant traction during the initial outbreak of the Coronavirus in Liberia in March 2020. Beyond providing meals, Mr. Jeety has made substantial contributions to improving the living conditions at Monrovia Central Prison, including the installation of a water system and a generator. He has also extended his feeding program to Kakata Central Prison and other regions within Liberia.

Mr. Jeety’s altruistic efforts are driven by a genuine desire to help those in need without any expectation of reciprocity. He urges the public to refrain from judging incarcerated individuals, emphasizing that while they have committed crimes, their well-being remains a paramount concern. He believes in the inherent dignity of every human being, regardless of their circumstances. His consistent acts of kindness and support have earned him the respect and admiration of many Liberians, particularly those facing challenging situations. He serves as a role model, demonstrating the transformative power of compassion and the importance of giving back to the community.

Through his comprehensive approach to philanthropy, Mr. Jeety addresses both immediate needs and long-term solutions. His feeding programs provide vital sustenance, while his contributions to infrastructure, such as the water system and generator at Monrovia Central Prison, contribute to a more sustainable and humane environment. His actions resonate deeply within the communities he serves, fostering hope and demonstrating that even in the face of adversity, compassion can prevail. He embodies the spirit of selfless service, inspiring others to contribute to the betterment of society and offering a powerful reminder of the impact that one individual can have on the lives of many. His work stands as a testament to the importance of not only meeting immediate needs but also addressing underlying systemic issues to create lasting positive change.
