On April 10, 2025, a joint security operation involving the Katsina State Police Command, the military, and the Department of State Services (DSS) resulted in the neutralization of five armed bandits in Dutsen Wori village, Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State. The operation, led by operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, involved ambushing suspected bandits along a known route. Seven operational motorcycles used by the bandits in their criminal activities were also recovered during the operation. This successful operation demonstrates the commitment of Nigerian security forces to combating banditry and ensuring the safety of communities.

In a separate operation on the same day, the joint security team acted on credible intelligence and intercepted suspected armed bandits in Unguwar Adam and Unguwar Judo villages, Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State. Three suspected informants providing information and logistical support to the bandits were apprehended during the operation. Operatives of the Kebbi State Police Command, in collaboration with vigilantes, successfully rescued Augustine Madubiya, a 23-year-old economics student at the Federal University Birnin Kebbi. Madubiya had been kidnapped on April 8, 2025, at Unguwar Jeji, Kalgo Local Government Area of Kebbi State. The rescue operation took place in the Dakingari forest on April 10, 2025. Upon sighting the security operatives, the kidnappers fled, allowing for Madubiya’s safe rescue. He is currently receiving medical treatment and will be reunited with his family.
