On October 28, 2024, the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) officially launched its Psychosocial & Counseling Center, a groundbreaking initiative designed to address the mental health and well-being of its staff, who are instrumental in improving Liberia’s revenue collection. During the inauguration, LRA Commissioner General Dorbor Jallah emphasized the importance of the center, not only for the physical and mental health of employees but as essential to achieving national fiscal goals. Jallah highlighted that collecting over a billion dollars in revenue in a fiscal year is an ambitious target that necessitates a workforce that is both mentally and physically fit.
