For example, Airtel Tigo’s GHS 400 bundle will increase from 195GB to 236GB, and Telecel’s GHS 400 bundle will increase from 190GB to 250GB. MTN will implement a 15% price increase across its data bundles and reinstate the GHS 399 bundle, significantly increasing its data allowance. The Minister also recognizes the impact of taxes on data affordability and is engaging with the Ministry of Finance to rationalize the tax components that contribute to the 39% tax burden on data prices. The objective is to reduce these taxes, allowing telecom companies to pass on the savings to consumers and further enhance data affordability.
