The Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations in Ghana has reiterated its commitment to collaborating with MTN Ghana, the country’s leading telecommunications provider, to resolve technical difficulties impeding the rollout of reduced data prices. These challenges, stemming from issues within MTN’s charging and subscription systems, have delayed the launch of new, more affordable data bundles, including a highly anticipated bundle priced at 399 Ghanaian cedis. This commitment was underscored during a high-level meeting between the sector Minister, Mr. Samuel Nartey George, and a delegation from MTN Ghana, led by Ms. Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe, the Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer. The Minister emphasized the critical need for proactive and transparent communication to manage public expectations and mitigate potential backlash, highlighting his own proactive engagement on social media platforms to keep the citizenry informed about the situation and the ongoing efforts to rectify the technical problems.
