Hon. Anthony Ziniel, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nandom, embarked on a two-day tour of youth camps within the municipality on June 4th and 5th, 2025. This initiative aimed to establish direct communication with the youth, foster collaborative partnerships, and address developmental challenges within the community. The visits served as a platform for open dialogue, allowing the MCE to listen to the concerns of young people and collectively explore solutions for the betterment of Nandom. By engaging directly with the youth, Hon. Ziniel underscored his commitment to inclusive governance and reinforced the importance of youth participation in local development.

The MCE’s tour commenced with a visit to Parliament Two Camp, a prominent youth hub within the municipality. Here, he actively engaged with the young residents, listening attentively to their perspectives on various community issues and sharing insights into the municipal government’s development agenda. This initial interaction set the tone for subsequent visits, establishing an atmosphere of open communication and mutual respect. The dialogue fostered a sense of shared responsibility for the future of Nandom, emphasizing the vital role of youth engagement in shaping the municipality’s progress.

On the second day, Hon. Ziniel extended his outreach to two additional youth groups: Team Kogr-Awai (K9) and Sansiro, a group drawing inspiration from the renowned San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy. These visits further demonstrated the MCE’s commitment to reaching diverse segments of the youth population and ensuring that all voices are heard. During these interactions, he reiterated his belief in transparent and accessible leadership, urging the youth to approach him directly with any concerns or rumors. By fostering direct lines of communication, he aimed to build trust, dispel misinformation, and promote a unified approach to community development.

A recurring theme throughout the MCE’s interactions was the importance of unity and collaboration. He consistently emphasized the need for all stakeholders, particularly the youth, to work together towards a common goal: the advancement of Nandom. Hon. Ziniel stressed that his leadership is open to all residents and requires the collective support of the community to achieve tangible progress. His message resonated strongly with the youth groups, who expressed their willingness to actively participate in the development process. The MCE’s commitment to inclusive governance and his emphasis on collaboration fostered a sense of shared ownership and responsibility for the future of the municipality.

The youth groups warmly welcomed Hon. Ziniel’s visits, expressing their appreciation for his proactive engagement and open communication. They viewed his presence as a testament to his commitment to youth empowerment and his recognition of their vital role in shaping the community’s future. The enthusiastic reception and the positive interactions during the visits underscored the mutual desire for collaboration and progress. The youth affirmed their willingness to support the MCE’s initiatives and contribute actively to the development of Nandom, echoing his calls for unity and collective action.

Hon. Ziniel assured the youth that his engagement would not be a one-time event but rather the beginning of an ongoing dialogue and partnership. He pledged to continue visiting other youth camps across the municipality after the Eid celebrations, further solidifying his commitment to maintaining open communication with all segments of the community. Accompanied by Mr. Yakubu Abdul-Rahman, the NDC Constituency Communication Officer for Nandom, and Mr. Baghr Francis, the MCE’s visits laid the foundation for continued collaboration and collective action towards a shared vision for a prosperous and unified Nandom. This proactive approach to community engagement signals a promising future for the municipality, with the youth playing a central role in shaping its development trajectory.
