In the lead-up to the December elections, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary candidate for the Chereponi Constituency, Hon. Alajor Seidu Alhassan, has vehemently criticized the current government’s performance. He specifically pointed to a lack of progress on key developmental projects that directly impact the constituents. Hon. Alhassan articulated that almost all sectors of the local economy are experiencing difficulties attributed to the government’s neglect. The disillusionment felt by the residents stems not only from unmet promises but also from the perception that their needs have been sidelined in favor of new electoral pledges that lack substance.

During his address, Hon. Alhassan outlined a series of critical issues, most notably the government’s failure to improve crucial infrastructure, particularly the road networks. He expressed concern over the deteriorating conditions of roads linking Chereponi with neighboring areas such as Yendi, Nalerigu, and Saboba, which he described as “deplorable.” This lack of adequate transportation infrastructure hinders local businesses and reduces access to essential services, leaving residents frustrated and marginalized. Furthermore, he highlighted how other areas like Togo are also connected by these inadequate roadways, compounding the sense of isolation for the community.

Hon. Alhassan also criticized the current administration for its unfulfilled commitments regarding job creation and the enhancement of peace and security in the constituency. He framed the unmet promises as evidence of a government that has lost touch with the realities faced by the populace. The recent economic challenges have only intensified, and Hon. Alhassan believes that the residents of Chereponi deserve better in terms of opportunities and stability. The lack of new jobs, paired with the deteriorating security situation, has left many constituents feeling vulnerable and disempowered.

He pointedly noted that despite repeated assurances from local leaders, including the area’s sitting Member of Parliament and the District Chief Executive, the community has yet to see any tangible results. This cycle of promises without delivery has bred skepticism among voters, who have witnessed an unbroken pattern of neglect and frustration. Hon. Alhassan’s remarks resonate with a growing sentiment that the government prioritizes new pledges for electoral gain over actual development and fulfillment of earlier commitments.

Amidst these grievances, Hon. Alhassan issued a rallying call to the people of Chereponi, assuring them that the NDC, under the leadership of John Dramani Mahama, is committed to actualizing the promises made to the constituency. He emphasized that if given the chance in the December elections, they would prioritize essential services, infrastructural development, and job creation to transform the area. His passionate commitment seeks to inspire trust in a political system that the community feels has let them down in the past.

In conclusion, Hon. Alhassan’s strong critique of the ruling government highlights the urgent need for accountability and responsiveness in leadership. His determination to rectify the neglect experienced by the Chereponi community positions him as a champion for change. With the elections approaching, the stakes are high for both the constituency and the candidates. The NDC’s vision, as articulated by Hon. Alhassan, emphasizes a future where development is not just promised but actively pursued, aiming to restore hope and improve living conditions for all constituents in Chereponi.
