The accident, which occurred on Monday, July 28th, involved a collision between the vehicle carrying the church members and a fuel tanker. In a tangible display of support, the NDC presented a donation of GH₵10,000 to the Saviour Church of Ghana to assist with funeral arrangements and ongoing support for the bereaved families. A further GH₵50,000 was allocated directly to the families grappling with the loss of their loved ones. This financial assistance aimed to alleviate some of the immediate burdens faced by the families as they navigated the emotional and logistical challenges in the wake of the tragedy. Four other members of the Saviour Church who sustained injuries in the accident are currently receiving medical care, with the church leadership reporting positive progress in their recovery.
