The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), a prominent voice representing the interests of Nigerian employers, has commended the Federal Government’s recent appointment of a substantive chairman for the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). This appointment, according to NECA, represents a significant stride towards solidifying the NHIA’s governance structure and bolstering its capacity to effectively manage the nation’s health insurance landscape. NECA’s Director-General, Adewale-Smatt Oyerinde, emphasized the crucial role of effective leadership in the success of any public scheme, highlighting the positive impact the new chairman’s presence will have on the NHIA’s ability to fulfill its mandate of providing accessible and affordable healthcare to Nigerians.
