Nestlé Appoints Samer Chedid as CEO for Central and West Africa
Nestlé, the renowned global food and beverage company, has announced the appointment of Samer Chedid as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for its Central and West Africa (CWAR) region. Chedid, a seasoned executive with extensive experience within the Nestlé group, assumes this pivotal role following his successful tenure as CEO of Nestlé Indonesia. He replaces Mauricio Alarcón, who has transitioned to a different position within the organization. Chedid’s appointment marks a significant development for Nestlé’s operations in the CWAR region, encompassing 25 countries.
Chedid brings a wealth of diverse experience to his new position, having worked across various geographical regions, including the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Notably, he has previously served as Country Manager for Nestlé Ghana, providing him with valuable insights into the specific dynamics and opportunities within the CWAR region. His return to the region signifies a homecoming of sorts, as he has previously contributed to Nestlé’s success in this market.
In his role as CEO for CWAR, Chedid will be responsible for leading and overseeing Nestlé’s business operations across the 25 countries within the region. He will play a crucial role in shaping the company’s strategic direction, driving growth and innovation, and ensuring the continued delivery of high-quality products to consumers. Furthermore, he will be instrumental in fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and business partners.

Chedid’s career journey within Nestlé began in 1998 as a Sales Development Manager. Over the years, he has progressively taken on roles of increasing responsibility, demonstrating his capabilities and leadership acumen. He has served as Head of Channel Category Sales Development for Nestlé Middle East Region, General Business Manager in Bahrain, Qatar, and Dubai, and Country Manager for Ghana. He then returned to the Middle East as Nestlé Middle East Region Sales Director before being appointed Country Manager for Saudi Arabia. Prior to his role as CEO of Nestlé Indonesia, he held the position of CEO for Nestlé Pakistan.
