The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has taken a significant stride in bolstering the nation’s football coaching capacity by announcing the selection of participants for the first batch of the CAF B-License Coaching Course. This comprehensive four-month program, scheduled to run from April 7th to August 25th, 2025, represents a vital component of the NFF’s strategic vision to elevate coaching standards across the country. The selected candidates, who have been contacted via email, are now preparing to embark on this intensive training journey designed to enhance their coaching prowess and contribute to the growth of Nigerian football.

The CAF B-License Coaching Course is meticulously structured in modules, catering to both male and female coaches, and reflects the NFF’s commitment to inclusivity and development across all levels of the game. This initiative follows the successful completion of a CAF C-License course exclusively for women, which took place between July and September of the previous year. The C-License course witnessed the participation of 30 aspiring female coaches, including several former Nigerian international players, further demonstrating the NFF’s dedication to empowering women within the football ecosystem.

The response to the CAF B-License program has been overwhelmingly positive, as highlighted by NFF Technical Director, Coach Augustine Eguavoen. The application period, which closed on February 25th, saw a remarkable influx of applications, underscoring the widespread interest and enthusiasm for advanced coaching education within the Nigerian football community. The NFF meticulously reviewed the applications and selected the most promising candidates for the first batch, emphasizing the organization’s dedication to identifying and nurturing talented coaches.

The Technical Department of the NFF has diligently reached out to all selected participants for the first batch, providing them with crucial information regarding the program’s structure, schedule, and requirements. Applicants are urged to diligently check their email inboxes, including junk and spam folders, to ensure they don’t miss any time-sensitive communications. The NFF emphasizes the importance of prompt communication and encourages participants to respond promptly to any correspondence to facilitate a smooth and efficient onboarding process.

The selection process for the second and third batches of the CAF B-License Coaching Course is currently underway, and the NFF expects to announce the successful candidates in the coming weeks. The phased approach ensures a manageable and effective training environment for each batch, maximizing the individual attention and support provided to participants. This structured rollout reflects the NFF’s commitment to providing high-quality coaching education and fostering a conducive learning environment for all involved.

This ambitious coaching development initiative underscores the NFF’s proactive approach to building a robust and sustainable foundation for Nigerian football. By investing in the education and training of its coaches, the NFF aims to elevate the overall standard of coaching across the nation, ultimately contributing to the improved performance and competitiveness of Nigerian football at all levels. This forward-thinking strategy not only benefits the coaches themselves but also has a ripple effect throughout the football ecosystem, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
