Nigeria’s national women’s tennis team secured a commanding 3-0 victory over Ghana in their second match of the 2025 Billie Jean King Cup Africa Group III stage, held in Namibia. This win followed their earlier 3-0 walkover against Uganda, solidifying Nigeria’s strong start in their quest for promotion. The team showcased impressive skill and determination, winning all their matches in straight sets, both in singles and doubles competitions.

Adesuwa Osabuohien initiated Nigeria’s triumph, defeating Ghana’s Sisu-Makena Tomegah in a closely contested first singles match with a score of 6-4, 6-2. Following this, Oyinlomo Quadre, a seasoned player on the Nigerian team, dominated her singles match against Precious Okoh, winning comfortably with a score of 6-3, 6-1. This victory secured an unassailable 2-0 lead for Nigeria, guaranteeing their win against Ghana.

The Nigerian duo of Osabuohien and Quadre then partnered for the doubles match, continuing their winning streak by defeating the Ghanaian pair of Tracy Ampah and Sisu-Makena Tomegah with a decisive 6-1, 6-0 score. This resounding victory cemented Nigeria’s 3-0 triumph over Ghana, marking their second consecutive win in the tournament.
