Other members of the Nigerian team include Temitope Adeshina, the NCAA women’s indoor high jump champion; Ezekiel Nathaniel, the African indoor record holder in the men’s 400m; Prestina Ochonogor, a Paris Olympic finalist; Edidiong Udo; James Onwuka; Ifeanyi Ojeli; and Joshua Caleb. Conspicuously absent from the Nigerian roster are prominent athletes Tobi Amusan, Favour Ofili, and Ese Brume, raising questions about their non-participation in this major international competition.

Other returning champions include Molly Caudery (pole vault), Tsige Duguma (800m), Hamish Kerr (high jump), Thea Lafond (triple jump), Sarah Mitton (shot put), Nicola Olyslagers (high jump), Miltiadis Tentoglou (long jump), and Hugues Fabrice Zango (triple jump).
