The Inspector-General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, has lauded the exemplary performance of Nigerian police officers deployed to Somalia under the African Union Support and Stabilisation Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM). Fifteen officers, who served in Somalia for nearly two years, from October 16, 2023, to June 14, 2025, were recognized for their exceptional contributions during a critical period of security transition. These officers seamlessly transitioned from their roles within the Formed Police Unit (FPU) to individual police officer duties, demonstrating remarkable adaptability and professionalism despite minimal induction training.
