Nutri-Yo has recently launched the second edition of its ‘Nutri-Yo Thanks-A-Teacher’ campaign, aimed at recognizing and celebrating teachers on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day. This initiative reflects the brand’s commitment to honoring the crucial role teachers play in shaping the minds of future generations. By encouraging the public to nominate deserving educators via social media, Nutri-Yo awarded five stellar teachers with brand-new laptops alongside cash prizes and additional gifts, including Nutri-Yo beverages for eight other nominees. The campaign has garnered positive attention as a meaningful way to appreciate the hard work teachers contribute to society.

Jennifer Egbuonu, Nutri-Yo’s Brand Manager, shared the brand’s motivation behind the campaign, highlighting the importance of acknowledging the significant impact teachers have on their students. “We decided to celebrate outstanding teachers on Teachers’ Day. We recognize the immense efforts teachers put into shaping the destinies of the next generation,” she stated. The winners of this initiative included Osemeke Vivian from Ilupeju Junior Grammar School, Adeleye Okikiola from Estate Junior Grammar School, and Martha Onuwabuchi from Local Government Primary School. Each winner was recognized not only for their dedication to teaching but also for their ability to inspire and nurture the futures of their students.

The campaign has shown growth compared to its inaugural edition, as highlighted by Kemi Okunade, Nutri-Yo’s Digital Marketing Manager. She noted, “This year, we took it a nudge higher, increasing the prizes and recognizing eight additional teachers with consolation awards.” The expansion and enhancement of the campaign demonstrate Nutri-Yo’s commitment to celebrating the educational community and motivating teachers across various institutions. The inclusion of numerous consolation prizes further emphasizes the brand’s objective to reach a broader audience and acknowledge more educators who contribute positively to their students’ lives.

The testimonies from the winners of the campaign reflect the profound impact that this recognition has had on them. One winner, Martha Onuwabuchi, expressed her elation after being nominated by a student she had taught nearly two decades ago. She articulated her gratitude and highlighted the success and accomplishments of her students over the years, showcasing the lasting influence a dedicated teacher can have. Similarly, Adeleye Okikiola, who has been teaching for over ten years, conveyed how meaningful the recognition from Nutri-Yo was to her, stating that it further motivates her efforts in shaping young minds.

Osemeke Vivian, another recipient, articulated her feelings of appreciation, stating, “This recognition shows that teachers’ rewards have started here on earth, not just in heaven.” Her words reflect a sentiment commonly felt among educators who often work tirelessly with limited recognition. The awards serve not only as a token of appreciation but also as a reminder of the importance of teaching as a profession. The heartfelt responses from the awardees highlight the positive effects of such initiatives on teachers’ morale and their continued dedication to their roles.

Looking ahead, Nutri-Yo has ambitious plans to expand the ‘Thanks-A-Teacher’ campaign across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. This expansion will allow for a wider recognition of deserving teachers and underscore the brand’s commitment to supporting education and educators throughout the country. By planning to celebrate more teachers, Nutri-Yo aims to inspire a culture of appreciation for educators and their invaluable contributions to society, fostering a community that values and uplifts its teachers while promoting an environment where learning and growth are paramount.
