The Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA) has taken decisive action against environmental offenders, sanctioning 128 residents and 20 industries for indiscriminate waste disposal across the state. The offenders were apprehended during an early morning operation carried out by OGWAMA’s Enforcement Squad. The residents were caught disposing of waste in unauthorized locations, including medians and public spaces, while the industries were implicated in dumping waste along major expressways, including the Lagos-Ibadan and Sagamu-Abeokuta routes. The sanctioned residents, hailing from various areas including Sango-Ota, Ifo, Ijebu-Ode, Papa Lanto, and Abeokuta, have been sentenced to community service as a consequence of their offenses.
