The successful operation of the revamped refinery has led to a more stable supply of petroleum products, particularly diesel and kerosene, which are being distributed by PETROAN members. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) retail marketers are responsible for the distribution of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol. This structured distribution model has helped curb the circulation of adulterated kerosene and diesel in the market, a problem that has plagued the Nigerian petroleum sector for years. The availability of locally refined products has also contributed to a more reliable fuel supply, reducing the reliance on imported petroleum products.
