Rev. Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, a prominent international evangelist and leader of the Worldwide Miracle Outreach, has issued a fervent call to Ghanaians, urging them to prioritize values over superficial considerations when casting their votes in the upcoming elections. He emphasized that the focus should be on the qualities and principles that candidates represent, rather than being swayed by factors such as physical appearance, religious affiliation, or social background. This appeal for a values-based electoral process comes as Ghana prepares for a crucial election, and Dr. Tetteh’s message underscores the importance of choosing leaders who embody integrity and a commitment to the common good.

Dr. Tetteh’s call for a values-driven election coincided with a press conference held in Accra to announce the upcoming “Jesus is the Answer Crusade: Jamestown Missions 2024.” This significant event, scheduled for December 26-28, 2024, at Jamestown Park, is a collaborative effort between Royals for Christ (R4C) Missions and Rev. Dr. Tetteh himself. R4C, a non-denominational Christian organization, is dedicated to spreading the Christian faith, supporting church growth, and providing training and resources for church leaders and workers. The crusade’s timing, just days after the election, highlights the importance of spiritual reflection and national unity in the aftermath of the political process.

In his address, Dr. Tetteh stressed the crucial need for a peaceful, transparent, and values-centered election. He urged all Ghanaians to prioritize righteousness, unity, and the collective well-being of the nation throughout the electoral period. He specifically cautioned against engaging in insults, fostering animosity, and creating unnecessary tension. Dr. Tetteh expressed his hope for a swift and decisive outcome, praying that the election results would accurately reflect the will of the people by Monday morning. He underscored the biblical principle that righteousness elevates a nation and that righteous leadership brings joy to the populace.

Drawing upon the wisdom of 2 Chronicles 7:14, Dr. Tetteh called upon Ghanaians to engage in humble prayer and seek divine guidance to ensure a successful and peaceful election. He extended his prayers to all the presidential candidates, emphasizing his desire for their safety and for the ultimate triumph of God’s will in the electoral process. While acknowledging the role of prophecy in spiritual life, he cautioned against its misuse for political gain, stating that prophecies should serve as guidance rather than dictates in decision-making. He emphasized the importance of personal discernment and responsible interpretation of spiritual messages.

Looking beyond the immediate election cycle, Dr. Tetteh urged Ghanaians to invest in education as a cornerstone of national development. He emphasized the need to nurture and equip future generations of leaders who are capable of shouldering the responsibilities of national leadership. He pointed to the fact that both leading candidates in the upcoming election hail from northern Ghana as an inspiration for individuals across all regions—South, East, and West—to prepare their children for potential leadership roles in the future. This, he suggested, would ensure a diverse and representative leadership drawn from all corners of the nation.

The upcoming crusade in Jamestown holds a special significance for Dr. Tetteh, as it marks a return to his birthplace. He expressed his profound connection to the community and the honor he feels in seeing his birthplace gain global recognition. He reiterated the core message of the crusade, emphasizing that a relationship with Christ offers the most transformative power for positive change in the world. He extended a heartfelt invitation to all Ghanaians, particularly those struggling with sickness, poverty, or a lack of hope, to attend the crusade and experience the power of God’s grace. This invitation, coming on the heels of the election period, signals a focus on healing and unity for the nation.
