In a recent campaign tour in Afram Plains North, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, urged voters to rethink their steadfast support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He cautioned community members that their continued allegiance to the NDC could hinder the region’s development. During his address to chiefs, local residents, Zongo chiefs, and party supporters, Dr. Prempeh criticized the NDC’s track record, asserting that the party has historically failed to fulfill its developmental promises to the region despite its long history of support. He emphasized this neglect as a key reason for voters to reconsider their choice in the upcoming elections.

Dr. Prempeh, commonly known as Napo, underscored the notion that the NPP is uniquely positioned as the party genuinely invested in the prosperity of all Ghanaians. He contrasted the NPP’s inclusive approach to governance with what he characterized as the NDC’s presumptive attitude toward the support of the Afram Plains North community. By highlighting the NPP’s proactive efforts to uplift communities throughout the country, he aimed to showcase the party’s commitment to delivering on development initiatives that enhance the lives of citizens in various regions, including Afram Plains North.

A significant element of Dr. Prempeh’s visit was the inauguration of the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) machines, which exemplified the NPP’s focus on advancing infrastructure development in the area. He urged the locals to vote for NPP’s Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in the forthcoming December 7 elections. Dr. Prempeh emphasized that this vote would be pivotal in ensuring that essential development projects continue uninterrupted, thereby fostering growth and vitality within the region.

Highlighting Dr. Bawumia’s capabilities, Dr. Prempeh portrayed him as a leader with a comprehensive vision for implementing transformative policies that could steer Ghana toward sustained growth and prosperity. He assured the community that selecting Dr. Bawumia as their leader would bring forth opportunities for noticeable change and progress. The unveiling of the DRIP machines served as a tangible demonstration of the NPP’s unwavering dedication to improving infrastructure and stimulating economic advancement within the region.

The Eastern Regional NPP Chairman, Jeffery Ohene Konadu, joined Dr. Prempeh in addressing the crowd, echoing the call for residents to break away from their historical voting patterns and extend their support to the NPP. He expressed his personal regret over a previous unsuccessful parliamentary bid in 2012 but remained resolute in his determination to promote development efforts in the region. Konadu pledged to work closely with the NPP Parliamentary Candidate to ensure effective change and progress that would ultimately benefit the Afram Plains North community.

In summary, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s visit to Afram Plains North was marked by a clear message urging voters to reconsider their allegiance to the NDC, citing a lack of delivered promises and development in the region. He promoted the NPP as the only party with the genuine intent to foster well-being and progress for all Ghanaians, underscoring its achievements in infrastructure development. By encouraging support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr. Prempeh framed the upcoming election as a critical opportunity for transformative change, while local leaders reinforced the call for community members to embrace new leadership for a brighter future.
