Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State received a resounding endorsement for his re-election bid from a coalition of over 60 support groups, collectively known as ‘All Soludo Support Groups’, boasting a membership of 120,000 individuals. This demonstration of support culminated in a solidarity rally held at the International Convention Centre, Awka, where the groups presented Governor Soludo with N30 million to bolster his re-election campaign. Chinedu Nwoye, the coordinator of ‘All Soludo Support Groups’, affirmed their commitment to supporting the governor’s vision and manifesto for the state, expressing satisfaction with the administration’s achievements thus far. This endorsement underscores the widespread approval of Governor Soludo’s first term and sets the stage for a potentially uncontested re-election campaign.
Governor Soludo, in acknowledging the overwhelming support, expressed his gratitude to the people of Anambra State, emphasizing the unprecedented nature of such backing for a gubernatorial candidate. He highlighted the consensus among diverse groups, including community leaders, party stakeholders, youth, and students, urging him to seek a second term.
