Governor Soludo’s Confidence in Minister Ojukwu and the Judiciary’s Role in Upholding Justice within APGA

Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, expressed his unwavering belief in Bianca Ojukwu’s capacity to excel as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet. Speaking at the National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Abuja, Governor Soludo lauded Ojukwu’s diplomatic experience, referencing her previous roles as Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain and Permanent Representative to the UN Tourism Organization. He commended President Tinubu for assembling an inclusive government, emphasizing the significance of APGA’s representation in the cabinet. Soludo viewed Ojukwu’s appointment as a testament to the shared progressive ideals of both APGA and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He expressed confidence that Ojukwu would bring substantial value to the cabinet, referring to her as an "APGA ambassador" within the government.

The NEC meeting, the first since the Supreme Court affirmed Sly Ezeokenwa’s position as National Chairman, was attended by prominent APGA members, including Senator Eyinnaya Abaribe and Representative Alex Ikwueche. The Supreme Court’s decision brought an end to the internal leadership dispute within APGA, solidifying Ezeokenwa’s leadership and paving the way for a united front within the party. Governor Soludo’s presence at the NEC meeting underscored his commitment to party unity and his support for the newly affirmed leadership structure.

Beyond his endorsement of Minister Ojukwu, Governor Soludo also praised the judiciary’s role in upholding the rule of law. Sly Ezeokenwa, the affirmed National Chairman of APGA, echoed Governor Soludo’s sentiments regarding the judiciary’s impartial stance. He emphasized that the Supreme Court’s decision demonstrated that justice is blind to position, ethnicity, or religious affiliation. Ezeokenwa also expressed gratitude for Governor Soludo’s leadership in Anambra State, highlighting the governor’s impressive developmental strides. He praised Soludo’s commitment to APGA’s core ideology of "leaving no one behind", pointing to the governor’s initiatives in education and healthcare as evidence of this commitment.

Ezeokenwa emphasized the positive impact of Soludo’s governance on APGA’s image, arguing that the governor’s performance strengthens public trust in the party. He cited the provision of free education for children from low-income families and free antenatal and delivery services for vulnerable women as examples of Soludo’s impactful policies. The chairman also highlighted the ambitious road construction projects underway in Anambra State, projecting the completion of approximately 500 kilometers of roads within three years. He lauded these achievements as unprecedented and a testament to Soludo’s effective leadership.
