However, their journey took an unexpected turn when the team encountered a minor road accident along the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway. Despite this unforeseen incident, the spirit of the team remained undeterred.
Following the accident, prompt medical attention was provided to the affected officials, and thankfully, they were discharged shortly thereafter. Lekan Fatodu, the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, confirmed the team’s resilience, stating that the incident had not dampened their morale. He personally visited the athletes and officials at the games village to assess their well-being and offer encouragement. Fatodu reported that the team was in high spirits and eager to compete, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to representing Lagos and achieving sporting excellence.
