Their ill-gotten gains included an assortment of gold jewelry, various electronic devices, a significant amount of cash totaling US$5,000 and GH¢21,645, as well as other personal belongings of the victim. The swift response of the Ghana Police Service marked the beginning of a determined pursuit to bring the perpetrators to justice. Arriving at the scene shortly after the crime, officers meticulously documented the area and collected crucial evidence left behind by the fleeing suspects. Among the items recovered were a machete, a metal cutter, and a T-shirt, all of which held the potential to unlock critical clues in the investigation.
The ensuing investigation, spearheaded by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, quickly gained momentum thanks to diligent police work and the pursuit of promising intelligence leads. Officers apprehended two key suspects: 26-year-old Ghanaian national Prince Opoku, also known as Agyenkwa, and Jennifer Nweke, a Nigerian national.
