The Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association (Lajna Ima’illah) in Ghana held its 2nd Annual Regional Ijtema’a (Rally) in the Central Region, focusing on the theme of active service to Allah. Hajia Fatiha Mubeena Adusei, an Executive Member, delivered a powerful keynote address, urging the hundreds of women gathered from various circuits and zones to dedicate their lives completely to God. She emphasized that true devotion involves aligning every aspect of one’s life – words, actions, and intentions – with the divine will. This dedicated service, she explained, citing Islamic texts, would earn them a special reward from God, a reward that includes freedom from fear and grief. The rally served as a platform for reflection, allowing the women to evaluate their past commitments and reaffirm their dedication to serving Allah.

Hajia Adusei challenged the attendees to introspect on their faithfulness to previous pledges, questioning why a renewed call to service was necessary if previous commitments had been truly honored. She highlighted the core principle of Ahmadi Muslim identity: prioritizing faith over worldly concerns. This principle, she explained, is constantly reiterated within the community through pledges, banners at gatherings, and regular discussions. The emphasis, she argued, stems from the inherent difficulty of upholding this principle in a world filled with distractions and temptations. Achieving this level of faith requires continuous prayer, seeking divine assistance to overcome the allure of worldly attachments and strengthen one’s resolve.

The path to spiritual steadfastness, Hajia Adusei advised, involves adherence to core Islamic practices. Regular prayer, particularly in congregation, charitable giving, and assisting those in need were highlighted as essential acts that solidify one’s commitment to the faith. By consistently engaging in these practices, individuals cultivate a deeper connection with God and strengthen their resolve to prioritize faith above all else. Furthermore, she urged members to embody Islamic teachings in their daily lives and within their communities, emphasizing that this outward manifestation of faith is a testament to true devotion and a pathway to divine favor.

Hajia Adusei elaborated on the concept of perfect love and understanding within the context of Islam, explaining that true sacrifice requires a comprehensive grasp of the faith and an unwavering love for God. She underscored that this deep understanding, coupled with sincere love, allows individuals to make meaningful sacrifices for the sake of their faith without reservation or regret. This profound connection with the divine eliminates the need for anything else and fosters a complete submission to God’s will. She reinforced her message with a quotation from the Holy Qur’an, reiterating that those who completely submit to Allah and maintain excellent conduct will receive a reward from Him and be free from fear and sorrow.

Beyond the spiritual focus, the rally also addressed the importance of physical well-being. Nana Dr. Ama Amissah III, Queen Mother of the Mankessim Traditional Area, the Guest of Honour, emphasized the significance of regular health checkups. Maintaining good health, she argued, is crucial for fulfilling one’s duties to both God and the community. Physical strength, she explained, enables individuals to engage in their daily activities, worship without hindrance, and actively serve others in the name of Allah. This holistic approach to well-being recognizes the interconnectedness of physical health and spiritual devotion.

The event also saw participation from other prominent figures. Dr. Fatima Eshun, a lecturer at the University of Environment and Sustainable Development, chaired the event. Nana Fatima Mohammed Esi Esiwaa III, Queen Mother of the Enyan Traditional Area, Hajia Sarah Bonsu as a Special Guest, and Madam Sarah Eduam, Central Regional Sadr of the Association, also graced the occasion and delivered speeches, further enriching the gathering with their insights and contributions. Their presence underscored the importance of the rally and demonstrated the collective commitment to strengthening the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association and its mission of service to Allah.
