The Founder of Kaaf University College, Mr. Michael Aidoo, has emphasized the need for government support for private universities in Ghana to ensure they can compete effectively with public institutions. As the college awaits charter approval from the President of Ghana, Aidoo reflected on the university’s journey towards enhancing its educational offerings and contributing meaningfully to national development.
During the recent 13th graduation ceremony, which saw the graduation of 629 students, Aidoo’s insights were echoed by Professor K.B. Omane Antwi, the Chairman of the Governing Council, who spoke to the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education. The graduation theme, “Empowering Tomorrow’s Leaders Through STEM Education: Creativity within 21st-Century Education and Skills Development,” highlighted the necessity of equipping students with essential skills like critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. The introduction of new academic programs, including Doctor of Laboratory Science and Doctor of Pharmacy, was also highlighted, with a Doctor of Medicine program planned as the next offering to enhance the university’s health sector curriculum.
