The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Golf Association, driven by its mission to cultivate golf at the grassroots level, recently convened a pivotal stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja to unveil its ambitious “golf to school” program. Six carefully chosen schools, including Government Secondary School (GSS) Gwarinpa, GSS Karshi, GSS Tundun Wada, GSS Gwagwalada, GSS Dutse, and Aduvie International School, participated in the enlightening session. The core objective was to equip school principals and games masters with the necessary knowledge and resources to seamlessly integrate golf into their respective school curricula. A crucial outcome of this initiative will be the designation of a dedicated golf desk officer within each FCT school, ensuring sustained focus and development of the sport.
The Chairman of the FCT Golf Association, Akabom Enebong, addressed the gathering, underscoring the association’s unwavering commitment to collaborate with the FCT Administration’s education and sports departments. This partnership aims to establish robust golf academies within the territory, nurturing young talent and fostering a vibrant golfing ecosystem.
