The Chiefs and residents of Krachi East in the Oti Region have shown their appreciation for the development efforts made by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the Akufo-Addo administration in the area. This gratitude was prominently displayed during a recent visit by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, where local leaders highlighted the substantial contributions of the NPP over the years. They have acknowledged how these efforts have led to significant improvements in infrastructure and overall administrative progress in the region, attributing much of this growth to the vision and policies of the NPP.

Nana Oda Gyamfi III, the Paramount Chief of the Asukoko Traditional Area, spoke fondly about the pivotal role played by the NPP, tracing its impact back to the administration of former President John Agyekum Kufuor. He noted that it was under Kufuor’s leadership that Krachi East achieved both constituency and district status. He emphasized that this transformation started with a sod-cutting ceremony for a major road project to connect Asukoko to Dambai, which was foundational for the region’s development. Following this, the continuation and extension of the road, including links to Kete Krachi and Kpandai, were further advanced by the current administration, demonstrating a consistent commitment to improving regional infrastructure.

Highlighting the efforts of President Akufo-Addo and Vice President Bawumia, Nana Oda Gyamfi III remarked on their adept negotiation skills that were instrumental in establishing the Oti Region and its capital, Dambai, recognizing the importance of effective leadership in regional development. In addition to infrastructural developments, the Chiefs expressed their gratitude for the advancements in digital services, commending Dr. Bawumia for his leadership in implementing digital banking services. This initiative has allowed citizens in the Oti Region and across Ghana to access banking services easily, contributing to enhanced convenience and efficiency.

The Chiefs also addressed the broader impacts of the government’s policies, particularly the transformative initiatives that have improved the quality of life for many Ghanaians. They pointed out significant initiatives such as the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy, the innovative medical drone delivery system, Agenda 111 hospitals, and extensive infrastructure projects that have collectively benefitted a wide array of citizens. These policies have not only supported educational accessibility but have also reinforced the healthcare infrastructure in the region, reflecting a government focused on sustainable development.

In addition to the notable policies and infrastructure investments, the Chiefs acknowledged specific completed projects in Krachi East. They expressed their gratitude for the establishment of key institutions such as the High Court with residential facilities, a Regional Police Command, and the Youth Employment Agency alongside royal enterprise offices. This series of projects highlights the government’s commitment to fostering security, justice, and employment opportunities, which are critical for the socio-economic development of the region.

As they looked forward, the Chiefs voiced their confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s potential to become the next President of Ghana. They urged him to consider completing remaining projects in the area, reinforcing their belief that under his leadership, continued progress can be achieved. This hopeful outlook, combined with the appreciation for past successes, reflects a community that values sustained development and leadership that prioritizes the welfare of its people. The engagement of local leaders and their acknowledgment of governmental contributions underscore a collaborative effort that aims to propel Krachi East and the larger Oti Region towards a prosperous future.
