The maiden edition of the Ogunsola Football Competition, an initiative of Oyo State House of Assembly member Anthony Ogunsola representing Iwajowa state constituency, commenced on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at the ADS Primary School Playing Ground in Iwere-Ile. This inaugural tournament brings together 144 players forming eight teams drawn from across the constituency, showcasing the lawmaker’s commitment to youth development and community engagement. The competition is not merely a sporting event but a platform designed to empower young people, foster unity, and identify and nurture emerging football talent within the Iwajowa community.

Ogunsola, in his address at the opening ceremony, underscored the critical role of youth development in societal progress. He emphasized that empowering the youth is fundamental to building a prosperous community.
